Dear Robert,
First of all <Happy New Year> to you and your colleagues at Fred Aldous.
I have just used the cosmetic silicone to produce a mold of a truncated
torso from a life model and Gedeo resin plaster to produce the final
cast. I am quite happy with the results but I wish to effect some minor
changes to the resultant cast. I would be very grateful if you could
tell me what material I should use at this stage. Whatever I use has to
stick permanently to the resin plaster cast already produce. I look
forward to your kind help and instructions.
Regards,
Lawrence

Thank you for your enquiry ... to fill any surface air bubbles and blemishes I use some dry powder while the casting is still damp. Rub the powder into any air holes and leave to cure for a few days. If you want to make simple alterations to the cast you could use an epoxy putty (Milliput)the porcelaine type is the finest, see http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/product_151030004.htm For more serious additions you can mix up more resin plaster and smooth onto the original cast. Before you do this, drill holes into the area you are altering and glue in loops of copper wire, this will prevent the added plaster from falling away from the original cast.

Thanks Robert,
I just placed an order for the Milliput. Now a couple more questions!
How can I remove excessive resin plaster (Gedeo)? Is it possible to
chisel it off?
Thanks once again and best regards,
Lawrence

As Rodin said "I start with a block of marble and take away the bits I don't want."
I use old woodworking tools for cutting and shaping plaster.
Tools you can use include:- hacksaw, wood chisels, surform, rasps, files.
For finishing:- work through the emery papers from course to fine.
Look on YouTube for these tools in action.
best regards, Rob
